Todd Briefly - ‘Demos’ Volumes 1 & 2 JSSR-011

Who is Todd Briefly? You ask again. Well, Todd is an inside joke that no one gets. Todd plays lo-fi garage pop songs that are equal parts painful and hilarious. Todd is the solo project, alter ego and writing tool for Beige Banquet’s T.E. Brierley. Todd is currently hiding somewhere in East London.

'Demos Volumes 1 & 2' is the new tape by Todd Briefly and it is out today. It features a, frequently requested, reissue of 2021’s ‘Demos’ on side A along with 6 new songs, ‘Demos 2’ on Side B.

Back in Spring 2021 the Todd Briefly’s ‘Demos’ tapes sold out in days and since then we’ve had quite a lot of people asking about a reissue. So here it is, along with one additional song, ‘The Lonely Negroni’, that was penned to be released on 'Demos' but was axed for diplomatic reasons and makes its scathing return on the 'Demos Volumes 1 & 2'. 'The Lonely Negroni' is Todd Briefly at his most poppiest and painfully vulnerable, the track features lyrics that are in equal parts hilarious and devastating and is underpinned by the signature angular guitars that defined the sound of ‘Demos’.

‘Demos 2’, on the B side of the tape, features 6 new songs that explore (mostly complain about) the experiences of working in the post-lockdown-london-music-scene. The tracks vary from chaotic and humorous to a new darker style that features a spoken word stream of consciousness with brutally self-reflecting lyrics.

‘Demos Volumes 1 & 2’ will be available 5th July 2022, on all streaming platforms as well as limited edition cassettes via Just Step Sideways.
